Comptroller and Auditor General of India Vinod Rai has been elected again as the Chairman of United National Panel of External Auditors for the year 2013.

 

The officials of the UNO has made it public in a statement. At present, the countries like China, France, Italy, Canada, Phillippines, Switzerland, Tanzania, Britain and India are the members in the panel.

 

The panel tries to strengthen the administration in the various organs of the UNO. It organizes various discussions relating to the auditing of the UNO. Amyas Morse of UK has been reelected as the vice chairman of the panel, said the statement. The secretary general of the UNO Ban Ki Moon has commended the service of the panel. Rai, along with his team, met Moon to inform him the decisions of the panel regarding the conduct of the audit.

 

The panel will meet every year to discuss the emergent issues in the audit of various organs of the UNO. The panel was formed through a resolution of the UN General Assembly in 1959.
