High Drama continuing in Bihar politics

A high drama is continuing between the ruling JD (U) and the BJP in Bihar State ever since Nitish Kumar tried to dethrone the Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. He made his party MLAs to elect him as their legislative leader but he couldn’t go ahead any further because the Governor Tripathi did not allow him to prove his strength in the house. He gave the chance to Jitan Ram Manjhi first, who still sticks to his CM Chair and claiming of having sufficient strength to run the government. He asked Manjhi to prove his strength in the house on February 20th.

So far, Jitan Ram Manjhi was making claims of having sufficient strength relying upon the 88 BJP MLAs support. The BJP is also prepared to support him, but it is now hesitating to support him after Nitish Kumar flays the BJP for playing murky politics in the state using CM Jitan Ram Manjhi like a puppet.

Hence, the Bihar BJP senior leader Sushil Modi said “We will stay in the opposition for the next six months rather than trying any experiment with anyone.” However, the BJP is still eyeing all options to support the Manjhi government. If it believes there is no risk for the party, it may support CM Manjhi or may walk-out of the house during trust vote. Sushil Modi said "we are not averse to admit Manjhi or Nitish Kumar into our party. All they have to do is just lift the phone and give us a ring. It is so simple.”

Currently, Nitish Kumar is trying to keep his MLAs away from Manjhi and he is trying to lure them to get their support. But, finally Manjhi may resign to his post and recommend the governor for dissolution of his government in the last minute to prevent Nitish Kumar taking over his CM Chair. But, the Governor may not think about that option when Nitish Kumar is ready to prove his strength in the house. So, this high end political drama may ends only on February 20th.
