DON’T DEPRIVE YOURSELF OF A BEDTIME SNACK

Do you often feel hungry during midnight hours? Don’t call it over eating. You may not have realized but a bedtime snack is very essential for you.

If you are habituated to an early dinner, you are depriving yourself of food for as many as 12 hours at a stretch! Its not a very good thing to practice. So just like you listen to a bedtime story before falling asleep, learn to eat a snack before you retire for the day.

If you are an athlete, skipping the bedtime snack can make you sluggish, causing your performance to fall. Does this mean you can eat anything before you sleep? Not at all! Make sure you eat something that is high in slow digesting protein. The best thing to take before going to bed is a tall glass of milk.

Research says that milk consist of casein. Since its slow in digestion it will supply your body continuously with amino acid, nourishing your body as long as you sleep. If you are not fond of milk, I have many other options for you. Try things like Greek yogurt, canned tuna, hard boiled eggs and sliced turkey.

Eat whatever you want from the choices above but remember not to deprive yourself of food while you sleep.
