APS RTC to be divided soon

APS RTC is one among those few organizations that need to be divided between two states. Telangana Transport Minister Mahender Reddy said the process of dividing APS RTC between two states will be completed within two months. He said once it is completed Telangana government will completely revamp the RTC, including changing of present color of the buses. He said government is ready to purchase 150 AC buses out of which 80 will be allotted to Hyderabad, 30 each to Khammam and Kareem Nagar districts. Currently, 40,000 private busses are operating in 3,597 routes across the state. Hence, those private bus services need to be controlled to reduce the losses to RTC, said the minister.
