AP likely to get additional power from Centre

The negotiations between AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Union Power Minister Piyush Goel are reported to be successful. He said that his ministry is working on a new project that ensures 500 mw additional power to AP from September this year. He has already declared that Andhra Pradesh has been selected for implementation of pilot project that assures uninterrupted power supply round the clock. Perhaps, this is what he has promised to Chandrababu today during their discussions.

Piyush Goel also asked Chandrababu Naidu to trace out around 10,000 acres for setting-up Solar Power Plant in Andhra Pradesh state. If these two mega projects turn into reality they will be a blessing for the beleaguered state, which is facing acute power shortage.

Union Health Ministry has asked Chandrababu and six other state governments to allocate 2500 acres of land for setting up AIMS like super specialty hospitals in their respective states. According to available information, Chandrababu Naidu has asked the concerned officials of the state to make arrangements for de-notifying the area between Nuziveedu and Khammam districts for setting up these prestigious institutions. Development activities may kick start from any time after September this year.
