Jnanpeet Awardee Anantha Murthy passes away

 

Noted Kannada writer UR Anantha Murthy (81), who is ailing aging health problems for last few months, died at Manipal Hospital in Bangalore on Friday afternoon. He was honored with Padmabhushan award in 1993 and with India’s prestigious Jnanpeet award in 1994. He was born on December 21, 1932 in Melige, a small village Shimoga district in Karnataka. His works “Ghatashraddha”, “Bharatipura”, “Avasthe” and “Bhava” have earned enough name and name for him. He statement made against creates havoc but later he changed his stand on it.
