Eggs thrown at actress for her Pakistan remarks

After being named in a sedition complaint this week, actor-turned-politician Ramya was in Mangalore today when protestors surrounded her car and eggs were thrown at it. She was escorted by the police away from airport to attend a local event. A sedition case was filed against actor-turned-politician Divya Spandana, on Tuesday, for praising the people of Pakistan and their hospitality. Outraged by her remarks a lawyer in Karnataka has filed a case of sedition on Spandana also known as Ramya.  Her remarks came in response to Defence Minister Mohan Parrikar’s comments that going to hell and going to Pakistan was the same, to which Ramya said, “I respectfully disagree, Pakistan is not hell, people there are just like us.

” Some people protested because they believed her statements were a direct response to a comment Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar made last week when he equated visiting Pakistan with visiting hell. This is one of the many sedition cases that India has seen in the last year. "It's really sad that there is such a situation in the country today. Politicians want to polarise and spread hatred. Just because borders separate us we shouldn't hate others" Ramya said to a news channel.
