Abdul Kalam’s funerals to be held at Rameswaram

 

Union Cabinet that meets today morning has decided to conduct the funerals of former President of India Abdul Kalam at his home town Rameswaram, honoring his family members’ requests. Hence, the government of India is making necessary arrangements to shift his body to Rameswaram.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Manohar Parikar, Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu and many others from Delhi will attend his funeral ceremony to be held tomorrow at Rameswaram around 1pm with due honors.

 

President Pranab Mukarjee, who was at Bengaluru has cancelled all his programs and rushed to New Delhi today morning. He paid rich tributes to his successor. He said “Abdul Kalam is a man who belongs to the people of the country. He lived in their hearts while he was alive and will live forever even after his death. I personally lost a good friend.”

 

Abdul Kalam’s body has been shifted to his official residence to 10, Rajaji Marg in New Delhi a short while ago, where people are allowed to pay their tributes to the great leader.
