44 Nurses from Libya arrive in Kochi

After the Iraqi crisis where 46  nurses from Tikrit were brought back to India , the first batch of 44 Keralite nurses  from  Libya arrived in Kochi from Dubai today. These nurses were working in various hospitals in Libya and out of the 58 nurses 44 of them reached the Tunisian border  from Tropili  two days ago. The second batch of 43 nurses have reached the Tunisian border yesterday.  The continuous fighting between rival military groups  in Tripoli over the past three weeks and clashes between Islamists and army in the eastern city of Benghazi has prompted several countries to evacuate their nationals and diplomatic staff.Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is leaving no stone unturned to get the nurses back safely and  has written to the External Affair Minister Mrs Susham Swaraj for facilitating the safe return of the nurses.
