`If there is a will there is a way` is a famous idiom in English! And if we go by that idiom… there might also be a `Way to improve our Will’. Here is the essence of what experts advice to increase our will power….

 

- Psychologists suggest that `Like memory, will power can also be strengthened! ‘ which means that people who feel that they are lower in will power can improve it through constant motivation and introspection.

 

- Meditation would help to keep our mind calm and focussed. Researches has proved that such a stable mind would lead us to a higher degree of will power.

 

- Taking a few deep breaths before accepting a challenge would also help us to be determined and stay focussed.

 

- Sleeping less than 6 hours a day would leave us with stress and lethargy. An active brain is an active way to sustain will power. So let us not leave our body and mind in hunger.

 

- Physical exercises would keep our mind and body fit for a goal. Physical workouts would increase the flow of oxygen to our brain and reduce the toxins in our body. They also release a chemical called endorphin which would help us in combating physical strain and keep us in a happy mood.

 

- Have a goal in your mind to achieve and be clear about your ambitions. That would give a purpose to your willpower.

 

- Placing deadlines to achieve your goal is really important. They would warn you to be committed. People often get trapped in the vicious circle of procrastination. We postpone things and things would get tough and appear bigger! Placing deadlines would break such habit.
