It was not a cake walk for Manchu Manoj since the expectations were huge. He finally made his Telugu cinema debut with Donga Dongadi (2004), a Tamil remake of Thiruda Thirudi. And the movie turned out to be an ordinary outing at the box office, although popular for couple of songs. Manchu Manoj’s next movie was Sri (2005), which is a dud and this prompted to take break for a couple of years. Raju Bhai (2007) got pretty good admiration for Manchu Manoj’s performance, but even this film failed. Nenu Meeku Telusa (2008) and Prayanam (2009) were the movies Manchu Manoj started to make some serious impressions. His hard work is clearly evident in these movies this is the stage where he’s slowly gaining momentum.
Bindaas (2010) was the first big commercial success for Manchu Manoj. The movie was directed by Veeru Potla and produced by AK Entertainments. The movie script fascinated all sections of the audience and all this has done a world of good to Manoj’s confidence and has revived his hopes.
Jhummadi Naadam (2010) was a big budget movie, directed by Raghavendra Rao and produced by Manoj’s sister Manchu Lakshmi Prasana (debut). Taapsee also made her Telugu cinema debut, but the movie was a disaster. Vedam (2010), the then much hyped multi-starrer film was Manoj’s next movie, where he shared screen space with Allu Arjun. Vedam was directed by Krish and produced by Arka Media. It was more an experimental movie and as such the film received critical acclamation apart from commercial success.
