The Banjara Hills police on Thursday night have arrested Tara Chowdary's personal assistant Haneef. He will be produced in Nampally courts in a short while from now. The police have already taken Tara Chowdary and her alleged husband Prasad in to a 4-day custody and interrogated them. The police will also seeks Haneef's custody today for further interrogation.

It is to be recalled that Tara Chowdary was arrested by Banjara Hills police on charges of forced prostitution and blackmail when one of her victims Lakshmi, from Vizag, complained to the police. On preliminary investigation police found that Tara was running a high class prostitution and blackmail racket by cheating gullible girls offering them good jobs and roles in Telugu films. It is said that she had close contacts with many VVIPs including political leaders, IAS and police officials. First she used to supply girls to these VVIPs and then record their sleaze audio and video tapes through her assistant Haneef. Later she used to blackmail the victims for huge amounts, which Haneef collected on her behalf. With Haneef's arrest now, the police is confident of getting more information about Tara's crimes and also about her VVIP clients.
