Why, TDP turned down Modi’s invitation?

TDP president Chandrababu and Balakrishna have received an invitation from former Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi three days ago for his swear-in ceremony to be held on 26th in Gujarat. At first, TDP was quite surprised to receive the invitation from BJP, its one time friend in NDA government. Since the mid-term elections fervor is pitched up in the media, TDP sees the invitation as a feeler from BJP seeking poll alliance for the upcoming elections. Though, it gives tense moments for rest of the parties to know its stand, TDP finally decided to skip the swear-in-ceremony of Narendra Modi, thus indicating it’s uninterested in friendship with BJP. TDP president Chandrababu Naidu asks Balakrishna to skip Modi’s function.
This is considered to be a significant decision taken by TDP, as both the parties are going to face general elections in a year or so. If, Narendra Modi is given charge to lead the party in the next general elections, then Chandrababu has to decide whether to regroup with NDA lead by BJP or not. In such case, Chandrababu’s decision to skip Modi’s function closes the doors on BJP.
