Students throw Ink on Health Minister

Unhappy with the lack of infrastructure at the medical institution, the students of AIIMS, Bhopal, registered their protest by throwing ink at Union Health Minister JP Nadda. The more than 50 medical students had gathered in protest, and the police had to use mild force to disperse them as they tried to block the health minister’s car. Two girls were injured by official car carrying the union health minister as the later tried to evade protests by medical students on Saturday. One of the wheels of the vehicle carrying health minister ran over the foot of the two medical students.
One of them later fainted on the spot. Both the injured were rushed to AIIMS Bhopal hospital for treatment. The injured were identified as Ijya Pandey and Anjali Krishna and are third year MBBS students. The incident took place at the entrance of the medical college. Nadda was on his first visit to the institute. AIIMS, Bhopal, despite its reputation, has not been able to provide students with basic facilities. In the past few years, several ministers have visited the institution and promised better facilities and infrastructure. However, the promises remain unfulfilled.
