Modi praises Army for Surgical Strikes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi commented on Tuesday at a public meeting, saying everyone is talking about the army these days without directly referring to the surgical strikes which happened recently. “Our army’s valour is being discussed across the country these days. We used to hear earlier that Israel has done this. The nation has seen that Indian army is no less than anybody,” he said. Addressing his parivartan rally in Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, Modi called the state the god’s land and the martyr’s land. He also talked about the One Rank One Pension policy as the right that had been granted to the soldiers in the state. "One Rank One Pension was hanging for 40 years, and it is our government which completed that work. Not only soldiers but their families bless me. We have released Rs 5,500 crore and promise to deliver the remainder soon," the PM said, in what was his first trip to Himachal since he won the Lok Sabha elections. Earlier today, Modi dedicated to the nation three hydro-electric projects (HEPs) in the state, with a generating capacity of 1,732 MW.
