Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be turning 66 years today, began his birthday, as he does every year, with a visit to his mother Heeraben Modi in Gandhinagar to seek her blessings. PM went to his mother's residence without the carcade or any officials. He greeted locals on his way home. With a packed schedule ahead in Gujarat today, the Prime Minister had reached his mother's home by 7.15 am and spent about half an hour there. Heeraben Modi, 97, offered the PM a special sweet she had made for him and they chatted for a while before the PM touched her feet and left. He later tweeted pictures of the meeting and said - "A mother's love and blessings are the elixir of life." This is the PMs third visit in recent times to Gujarat, where Assembly elections are due next year.
