Animal enclosures are flooded with water
Updated : Sep 17, 2016
HYDERABAD: On Friday evening, almost all the animal enclosures in the Nehru Zoological Park where flooded with water due to the heavy downpour in many areas of the city. B-complex syrup has been administered and oral antibiotics were added in animal feeds by the authorities soon after the animals showed the signs of illness.Shivani Dogra, the Zoo curator said that, the current situation was a result of the lack of adequate number of water outlets. They need to build vents with larger outlets and at the moment, the large volume of water coming in from the tank doesn’t get channeled, she said adding that, the animals would be allowed access to the display area as currently there was a danger of them falling sick after drinking dirty water.
