The government is moving at “light speed”

NEW DELHI: On Monday, the tax experts said that, the government was moving at an “ultra-fast” speed on Goods and Services tax and the cutoff date, 1st April 2017, for rolling out the new indirect tax regime seems achievable.The Indirect tax leader of BMR & Associates LLP, Rajeev Dimri said that, there was no case anymore for India Inc to remain in the wait and watch mode. It was high time that the businesses roll up their sleeves to work towards creating a GST complaint internal set up by the go-live date.The Union Cabinet approved setting up of the GST Council on Monday and the experts of tax said that, the level of preparedness at the end of the state governments needs to be closely monitored.
