Updated : Dec 8, 2012
The matter of three Telugu Desam Party abstaining from voting in Rajya Sabha on FDI issue is becoming controversial. National media put the blame on the party for doing so. Some media reports explains that even Chandra Babu Naidu did not know about the decision of his three MPs.
The three MPs Devendar Goud, Sujana Chowdhury, Gundu Sudha Rani gave the explanations which can not be trusted. Explanations given by the MPs are like this. Devendar Goud had an appointment with doctor, Sujana had been suffering from cold and Sudha Rani had to visit his relatives who were ill.
It is reported that Chandra Babu became serious on the MPs who fetched a bad name to the party and asked them to present before him personally to give explanation. Other senior leaders of the party are too serious on the MPs and are fearing on the damage that the issue can do for the party.
As per some media reports the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs has pressurized the MPs to abstain from voting. The CPI leader Sitaram Echuri questioned Babu whether the party was really in his hands or not.
