11 killed, over 25 missing as Boat Capsizes in Bihar

The overcrowded boat was carrying over 40 people from Bhojpur district's Dhauri village to Masarwa village in Arwal district when the mishap occurred.
According to reports, at least six people swam to safety while some of the passengers were rescued by local villagers. The National Disaster Relief Team (NDRF) divers from Patna have been deployed for rescue and search operations.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of those dead in the mishap.The ex-gratia amount comprised of Rs.1.50 lakh each from the disaster relief fund and Rs.50,000 each from the Chief Minister's Relief fund.
