ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, Afghan’s local media reported that, Kabul had warned that it would block the transit route of Pakistan to central Asian countries if Afghanistan tradesmen are not allowed by Pak to use Wagah border to trade with India.
Ahraf Ghani, the President of Afghanistan, in a meeting with Owen Jenkins which happened at Kabul, said that, If Pakistan doesn’t allow Afghan traders to use the Wagah border for imports and exports of their goods, Afghan would also not allow Pak to use the transit route of Afghanistan to reach Asia and other countries for trade.
The President said that, Afghan wants Pak and other regional countries to remove all the technical problems that create obstacles in economic cooperation, adding “But Islamabad usually closes transit routes during the fruit season which has been causing millions of dollars loss to Afghan tradesmen”.
