Sivaramakrishnan Committee to decide Andhra Capital

 

 

 

As per an order issued by the Joint Secretary in the Home Ministry S Suresh Kumar ,the Indian Government has set up a five-member expert committee, headed by former Union Urban Development Secretary K Sivaramakrishnan who will recommend a site for the capital of Rest of Andhra state. The residuary state will have to build a new capital within 10 years as both the states will have Hyderabad as the joint capital. The Secretariat is already being divided and the employees are being bifurcated as per region.

 

The other members of the Committee include Rathin Roy, Director, National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi, Aromar Revi, Director, Indian Institute for Human Settlements, Bengaluru, Jagan Shah, Director National Institute of Urban Affairs, New Delhi and K T Ravindran, former Dean, School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.


Along with this a 5 member committee headed by former Central vigilance Commissioner (CVC) Pratyush Sinha will look into the division of the IAS , IPS and IFoS civil servants.
