Karnataka special investigating team (SIT) constituted by Lokayukta arrested illegal mining king Gali Janardhan Reddy today at Bengaluru, when he appeared before it after being summoned for questioning. IG of Police, SIT KSR Charan Reddy confirmed his arrest. He said Gali Janardhan Reddy was arrested in connection with illegal mining and exporting the same.

 

Gali Janardhan Reddy, who earlier was arrested in Obulapuram mining case and spent three years in jail, came out on January 20th after Supreme Court grants him bail, but he is returning to jail within 11 months. He was charged for illegal iron ore mining in the Ballari Reserve Forest area that spreads between Ballari and Ananthapur, altering the mining boundaries, abusing his powers as public servant in the OMC case.
