Will Jayalalitha quit CM Post?

The special court in Bangalore that is handling Tamilnadu Chief Minister Kum Jayalalitha’s disproportionate assets case declared that she is guilty in the case. The court may convict her with jail term, but she may approach High Court to grant stay on the special court orders. There are speculations in the media that she will resign to her post following the court verdict and install her loyal finance minister Paneer Selvam in her chair for time being. If, the High Court grants stay on the special court orders, then she may not let anyone occupy her chair. Hence, her continuance as Chief Minister of Tamilnadu solely depends on the High Court verdict and may not on the special court verdict.
However, whether or not she resigns to her post, this will give the main opposition party DMK edge over Jayalalitha's ruling DMK party. It may demand the Centre to dismiss her government and conduct fresh elections in the state.
