11 out of 24 convicts in Gulbarg Society massacre were sentenced to life in jail by a special SIT court on Friday. From the rest of the convicts 1 was sentenced to 10 years in jail and 12 were given 7 years in jail. As many as 69 people were killed in 2002 in an attack on Gulbarg Society, Ahmedabad, which had a muslim dominated population. It was attacked a day after the Sabarmati Express train was put on fire in Godhra.
