Apple Halwa

 

 

On this Janmashtami day, we bring to you a delicious, yummy yet nutritious sweet, “Apple Halwa” which is perfect for the occasion.

 

Ingredients:
4 Apples  sliced in to small pieces.
1 cup of Almonds and cashew nuts
2 Green Cardamoms
2 inch stick Cinnamon
2 Table spoons condensed milk
1/2 cup Sugar
3 Table spoons Ghee

 

Preparation:
 Heat ghee in a thick bottom pan and add sliced apples and sugar to it and cook stirring till they cook nicely to become in to thick paste. It is important to add sugar along with the apples, so that the apples are cooked fine.

Soak almonds and cashew nuts then blend them together to make a paste.
 Now, add cinnamon sticks and whole green cardamom to cooked apples and stir it well. Now, add paste made out of almonds and nuts and stir well, cook on high heat for 2-3 min.

Reduce the flame and add condenced milk to the mixture . Stir and cook on low heat till you get halwa consistency.

Serve hot at room temperature.You can top this with dry fruits while serving.
