Is the agitation for sovereignty or tribal welfare?

Is the agitation for sovereignty or tribal welfare? Congress seems to be taken a complete ‘U’ turn on Polavaram project, which it added in AP reorganization bill-2014 and even prepared an ordinance for merger of seven mandals of Kammam with AP.

Former union minister Jaipal Reddy said that the state was divided under Article 3 and 4. However, neither Parliament nor Centre can pass amendments to that bill, without taking the consent of Telangana government, but the NDA government has passed the amendment with brutal force. It is against constitution and against democratic norms. NDA has violated the sovereign rights of the state government.”

But, the question is why he and all those leaders vociferously opposing the bill now have remained silent, when the UPA government has prepared the ordinance for merging the seven mandals with AP? And why they are opposing NDA government when it is just implementing the same decision now?

This clearly underlines that these beleaguered Congress leaders are desperately grabbed this opportunity to revamp their lost glory, but definitely not concerned about the welfare of those tribal, who are going to be displaced under this project. It is to be observed none of these politicians are insisting for the welfare of the tribal, but only arguing about altering the boundaries of Telangana state. If they are really concerned about the welfare of the Tribal, they would have agitated for a better package for them, but they grab this opportunity to hit the media so as to win the hearts of Telangana people. It is AP government, which is talking about package, rehabilitation and assuring to safeguard their interests.
