Hombale Films have announced Mahavatar Cinematic Universe with films based on Lord Vishnu Avatars. Kleem Productions are producing this massive animated feature film universe starting with Mahavatar Narsimha. Let's discuss about the film in detail.
Plot:
Maharishi Kashyipu and his wife Dhiti participate in reproduction activity during dusk time, which is prohibited by sastras and this results in the birth of two asuras - Hiranyakashyipu and Hiranyaksha. They both grow into enemies of Lord Vishnu and start torturing Devatas. Hiranayaksha hides Mother Earth and Vishnu kills him in Varaha Avatar.
For vengeance, Hiranyakashyipu starts penance towards Brahma and gets a boon that he cannot be killed by a weapon during Day time or Night. He announces himself as God but his son, Prahlada, denounces this claim and becomes devotee of Lord Vishnu. Thus ensues a battle of God vs Demon like never before. Analysis:
Ashwin Kumar and his team have decided to give visual representation to popular legendary tales of Lord Vishnu in animation form but their writing lacks depth. Why devotion is greater than bodily strength needed to be brought out in this story rather than visuals.
There is a lot of inspiration from Japanese Anime and Hollywood animation features in visual representation of Indian mythology. It feels like we are watching a flow of events rather than a story of devotion for most part. The animators did work hard to bring to life the visuals but they lack life.
Music by Sam CS is not up to the mark and even few scenes feel like unnecessarily being dragged out. But Lord Narasimha, Lord Vishnu representations are well crafted. Still, the script lacks cohesiveness and impact. For devotees, this film can be watched once.

Script and Music needed to be better for bigger impact.
