Narendra Modi has won from Maninagar constituency by defeating IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt's wife Shweta Bhatt of the Congress by over 70,000 votes while his party is set to form the government in the state for the fifth time in a row.

Expressing his happiness over the win, the Gujarat Chief Minister posted a tweet, saying, "No need of looking behind ...FORWARD...We want infinite energy, infinite courage, infinite patience..."

Modi is set for a third term as the Chief Minister of Gujarat with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerging as the clear winner in the assembly elections. Defeating anti-incumbency for the second time in a row, Modi has raised his prospects for a venture into the national politics.
