Sprouted Batter Breakfast

Homemade Breakfast is the best...using Organic whole grains is even more nutritious. Studies have proved that flours of any kind can be .......due to the same reason Nutritionists are suggesting Sprouted Bread and even Flours for baking these days. We can make sprouted batters for Dosas and Idlis at home, however, it is a time taking process than the usual method. As adults, we have consumed bleached flours for many years, they tend to increase bloating in human bodies and are inflammatory foods. Now that the studies preach differently, it is always good to offer better foods to children. If not in flour form or batters, giving them sprouts is highly nutritious.

Sprouting is a method of soaking the grains in a hygienic environment, which we Indian know best. Sprouting process breaks down the starch content in any grain and that is why it contains less carbohydrates and also removes anti-nutrients. It elimintates Gluten in Wheat and any other similar grain.

Recipe:
Soak 2 cups Urad dal, 1 cup Brown rice and 1 tsp Methi seeds, overnight.
Leave them in a wide bowl, lightly moist for sprouting.
Once you notice sprouts, grind the grains with salt.
This batter maynot last longer even in the refrigerator and so quick consumption is recommended.

Food Markets have increased their production of Sprouted Flours and Breads as more and more people are becoming aware of the many health benefits sprouts offer. It is always advisable to do a thorough research and consult a nutritionist before following a diet regime for kids or for adults too.
