Is Dil Raju vs Mythri Movie Makers costing Peddi?

May 30, 2026 4:17PM

Producer-distributor-exhibitor Dil Raju and his brother Shirish Reddy did not hide the fact that they have issues with Mythri Movie Makers. Currently, Mythri has been backing theatrical rights of big star films and even producing 4 of them. The popular sentiment across the Industry is that their distribution issues have started creating issues for Peddi.

Until last few weeks, the percentage issue in Telangana did not become so public. Even for Ustaad Bhagat Singh starring Pawan Kalyan and produced by Mythri, there have been disagreements but not so open fights. Now, Shirish Reddy made an open statement that their theatres won't accept hiked prices in Telangana.

Even exhibitors wrote letters to TG Government asking them to not consider any sort of increase in prices. Mythri Movie Makers who are releasing Peddi went to High Court and withdrew petition. Inside gossip of Industry is that Dil Raju used the real issue to put Mythri in their place and showcase his influence.

Mythri distribution sector did raise issues about non-cooperation from theatre owners during their recent Jet Lee film release. They might have anticipated Peddi being Ram Charan's film won't have any problems but the film is denied hikes. This will be shown as example to stop hikes for all other big star films, too.

While people who support Mythri are calling these as arm twisting tactics, others are pointing out that at least with such a war, the real problems are finding some solutions. In any case, if audiences can benefit and return to cinemas, entire Industry might just stop infighting and understand hardwiring is a necessity.

Peddi's success in pulling crowds to theatres despite the talk will help in long term for sure. Hence, it is up to Ram Charan, director Buchi Babu Sana and the entire movie's team to deliver a knock out film and create a positive box office phenomenon.
