Presented by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the youthful drama Romanchakam featuring Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Sanilkumar has hit the screens today. Let us look at the review.
Plot:
Anvesh (Sumanth Prabhas), a Gen-Z youngster from Hyderabad, falls in love with Mythili (Ananthika), a Telugu girl living in Chennai. After they get close, Mythili moves to a flat in Hyderabad. Things take a turn when she suddenly goes missing. A panicked Anvesh fears she might have gone to end her life. The film explores how they met, the truth behind their love, and the real reason for her sudden disappearance.
Analysis:
The movie has a very simple plot that highlights modern-day relationships. While the character introductions are good, the first half soon feels routine. However, the comedy track involving friends saves the day and keeps things engaging. The interval twist lands well.
The second half is completely driven by entertainment. Upendra Limaye’s police episode is a major highlight. However, the emotional reason behind the heroine leaving lacks the needed depth.
Sumanth Prabhas performs much better than his previous outings. Ananthika gives a fine performance, acting expressively with her eyes. Narendra Ravi's comic timing is excellent.
Director Venugopal Reddy succeeds more as a dialogue writer than a filmmaker. The songs are good, but the background score and production values are just average.
