418 will not be arriving in theatres on September 18 as planned. The horror thriller, presented by Prashanth Neel and backed by Mythri Movie Makers, has been postponed as the team works on a grand multi-language release.

The decision comes after the film reportedly received encouraging feedback from special screenings held for select audiences and industry members. The makers say exhibitors from other language markets have responded positively, with the response from the Hindi exhibition sector being particularly strong. This has prompted the team to explore a Hindi release along with the South Indian versions.

Rather than rushing the film into theatres on the already announced date, the production house now wants additional time to plan its release across multiple markets. The idea is to give 418 wider visibility and take advantage of the interest that has emerged beyond its original target audience.

The postponement is therefore being presented as a strategic expansion rather than a production-related delay. The film had already generated curiosity with its trailer, while its recent screenings have apparently strengthened the makers’ confidence in its theatrical potential.
