Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, Manchu Manoj and Nara Rohith have come together for the first time in Telugu Cinema for Bhairavam. The talented actors promise a impactful rural action entertainer. The movie directed by Vijay Kanakamedala and produced by KK Radhamohan released on 30th May. Let's discuss about the film in detail.
Plot:
Varadha (Nara Rohith) and Gajapati Varma (Manchu Manoj) are close friends in Devi Puram. An orphan Seenu (Bellamkonda Sreenivas) works closely with Gajapati but he is treated as a family member by Varadha's family, mainly, as the brother of his wife, Poornima (Divya Pillai). Gajapati Varma's Grandmother (Jayasudha) treats all three of them equal.
Gajapati has a weakness to gamble and he looses more money than he would gain. A Cabinet Minister (Sarath) plans encroach Devi Puram Vaarahi Temple land worth thousand crores. He uses his political power to influence them but both Varadha and Gajapati don't accept. What schemes does he use and how they effect their lives, watch the movie to know more.
Analysis:
Bellamkonda Sreenivas, Manchu Manoj and Nara Rohith deliver good performances. Manoj and Sreenivas got roles with gray shades while Rohith has a highly positive character. They bring out the shades well while Rohith leaves more impact. Sreenivas did his best to appeal with Punakam episode, but his performance in other scenes is not that impactful.
Manchu Manoj did his best in a gray shaded role but he slightly over emphasised on base voice dialogue delivery which felt like over stretch at places. The writing in the film and execution doesn't leave same impact as the makers desired. It feels like they tried to make it impactful with serious tone but falls short as the narrative lacks grip.
The story is decent and a good rural feel could have made it work even better. It just feels like a regular action drama with emphasis on in-house fight between friends like family. The believability would have worked better with a more grounded approach than the regular commercial heavy formulaic one.
Still, the performances, music by Sri Charan Pakala and production values make it a watchable one. Vijay Kanakamedala could have tried to make it more grounded and raw which would have made it a must watch action entertainer.
Bottomline:
The movie appeals to an extent due to the performances to action lovers.
Rating: 2.5/5
