Premalu made Neslan a very known figure in Telugu states as well. Now, his recent hit Alappuzha Gymkhana released in Telugu with a promise to repeat the similar success and become another good film for the actor. Let's discuss about the film in detail.
Plot:
Jojo Johnson (Naslen) fails in Intermediate along with his friends group. He gets to know that he can pass out easily in Sports Quota and get a seat in desired college as well. So, he tells to his friends the same and inspires them to try out boxing. The team joins Alappuzha Gymkhana and get selected in district level competitions. Can they win in State Level Championships? Watch the movie to know more.
Analysis:
Naslen and every actor is cast perfectly in their roles. As a person who can initiate and motivate a group or any person, Naslen delivered his best. To accept a role where his heroism is subverted rather than making him the focal point, needs guts and belief that he can pull it off. Naslen should be appreciated for it.
Each and every other actor also fit the bill perfectly and the screenplay engages you with simplicity. The movie also delivers on its promise making it an enjoyable flick just with their group dynamics and chemistry. While we see hero as a flirt still his knack to understand the difficulty in boxing and encouraging a girl, works big time.
The subversion of regular commercial troupes work very well in the film. The simple yet effective screenplay is a big plus point to it. Still, the writing in the first hour where the director establishes different characters could have been even more effective.
Also, music in second hour is perfect yet the first few songs don't really sit well. The film takes its time in establishing every character and make us care for them with good finale. It surprises us to see such youthful film with no big story yet entertaining us to the core. Also, the cinematography is excellent in boxing scenes. Overall, it is a good timepass flick.
Bottomline:
Alappuzha Gymkhana is a light-hearted timepass film which you can give a try.
Rating: 2.5/5
