Within Four Months South Industry Delivered Three Industry Hits

on Jun 20, 2022

South films have been breaking box office records for the past few months. While Bollywood films are struggling to break even, South films are doing well at the box office. Three of South's films have been industry hits in less than four months. It's worth noting that these are films from the South, in various languages.

RRR:

Under the direction of maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli, the RRR film was released in March with high expectations. RRR has amassed impressive collections in every language. RRR Cinema has become Industry Hit in Telugu, grossing around 1150 crores globally. Although it did not surpass the box office performance of Baahubali 2, the film did gross a lot of money.

KGF Chapter 2:

KGF Chapter 2 was released in April, directed by Prasanth Neel and starring Rocking Star Yash. It's worth noting that these film collections have surpassed those of any other Kannada language film in the past. The film is said to have made around Rs 1200 crore in its entire run. In Kannada, KGF 2 is a Industry Hit. Even in Bollywood, the film has grossed exorbitant sums.

Vikram:

Vikram, directed by Lokesh Kanakaraj and starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role, smashed and created new records in Tamilnadu, beating Baahubali 2. It became an Industry Hit in Tamil, making over 300 crores in worldwide collections.

It's worth noting that the fact that industry hits are being produced in a variety of southern languages in less time makes fans very happy. It's unclear to what extent Vikram will own the collections in the long run.
