Sita Ramam Review: Another Classic added to the list of Poetic Love Story
on Aug 5, 2022
Sita Ramam is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and stars Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna as the lead actors. The songs have become a massive attraction for this film. The tracks of music director Vishal Chandrasekhar are receiving high praise. The promotional pictures for the film have sparked curiosity on the film. Let's see how the film turned as it is in theatres from today.
Story:
Sita Ramam is a good period drama. The film begins in 1985. Tariq, a Pakistani major, delegated authority entrusts a responsibility to his grand daughter Afrin (Rashmika Mandana). He tells her to locate Mahalakshmi (Mrunal Thakur) in India and to deliver a letter written 20 years ago by Indian Army Lieutenant Ram (Dulquer Salman). Afreen makes numerous attempts to locate Seetha Mahalakshmi. You'll have to see the movie to find out how she found her and what the link is between Afreen Lt Ram and Sita Mahalakshmi.
Performance of the Actors:
The film's lead actors, Dulquer Salman, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandana, delivered outstanding performances. Hanu Raghavapudi's casting is simply brilliant. The film has a slew of A-list performers, all of whom play important roles. The main focus of the film is the lead couple. Dulquer and Mrunal carried the weight of the entire film on their shoulders. Sumanth and Tharun Bhaskar have done well in their roles. Sunil and Vennela Kishore's comedic roles gave plenty of chuckles. The supporting characters are all excellent in their roles. Famous actors such as Prakash Raj and Gautham Menon were unable to fully utilise their screen time because it was limited to a few scenes.
Technical Performance:
Hanu Raghavapudi directed the first half of the film, which was filled with romance, suspense, and humour. The aesthetics are also a hit with the audience. Along with intriguing romance scenes, the director has managed to keep the viewer wondering. The slow pace of the plot is a bit of a letdown. Hanu has occasionally disappointed while telling an emotional love story.
The music of Vishal Chandrasekhar is the film's main attraction. Vishal has done justice to both the songs and the background score. PS Vinod and Shreyas Krishna's cinematography is excellent, and the visuals are breathtaking. Kashmir's valley is stunningly displayed. Kotagiri Venkateswarlu should have given closer attention to the editing work.
Plus Points:
The chemistry between the lead pair is magical
Poetic Visuals
Love story
Minus Points:
Lag scenes in second half
Analysis:
Sita Ramam film was exhibited as a period drama by the director. However, some repeated situations that could have kept the audience guessing until the end failed to entertain. It would have been preferable if the running time had been cut by fifteen minutes. This film has the ability to engage and entertain the audience.
