A renowned film maker, script writer, fiction writer, publisher, illustrator, calligrapher, graphic designer and film critic he need no introduction to the Indian Film Industry and has been revered by one and all irrespective of state and language .The Bengali film Maestro whose 36 films including feature films, documentaries and shorts films (which he already made in those days) could be considered as encyclopedias in film making and for those who want to learn about film making. We always have the Wikipedia for more details about his filmography and awards received but the most important thing we need to remember and honour is the legacy that this Bharat Ratna has left behind which has to passed on to the New generation of filmmakers & posterity.
