Robo 2 Is Costliest Asian Film

on Dec 2, 2016

SS Rajamouli and Shankar are top directors in south India. They have credibility to make true and massive hits, so producers are not worried to spend any amounts. Rajamouli had upper hand over Shankar last year. While Rajamouli’s Baahubali had become a biggest hit, Shankar’s last outing I (Manoharudu in Telugu) released early this year was a disaster.

Now, Shankar is hoping to deliver a massive hit, bigger than Baahubali with his latest directorial Robo 2.0 that has superstar Rajinikanth playing lead role and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar as antagonist.

Shankar had long ago announced to make the film with an estimated budget of Rs 300 crores. Guess what, the budget has now risen to Rs 400 crores. It has become the costliest film in Asian continent.

The film is expected to release in 6 languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English, Japanese and Chinese. So, recovering the high budget with huge buzz on the film may not be a tough task for the makers.

Rajinikanth and Shankar duo previously delivered two biggest hits with Sivaji and Robo. They are set to re-write history with Robo 2.0, sequel to Robo.

The highly anticipated film is likely to hit the screens for Diwali, 2017.
