Rishab Shetty expresses his gratitude to Jr. NTR

Rishab Shetty is thrilled with the grand success of his devotional epic, Kantara Chapter 1. The movie has grossed over Rs. 509.25 crores worldwide in its first week. On this occasion, interacting with the Telugu media, Rishab thanked Jr. NTR for his support and stated that he is indebted to him. 


Rishab Shetty openly stated, "I cannot repay for his gesture and I am very touched by his love and affection towards him and the film." He confessed that he is "indebted to NTR" for his unwavering backing of the project. He also thanked Telugu people for the kind of love and affection they are showering upon the film. 


The filmmaker also shared his personal connection to the film, revealing he always wanted to bring the folklore of his homeland to the screen. The immense pan-India success has provided a big boost and "freedom to explore the story even better" in the planned prequel. 


Rishab Shetty further stated that they have had to build a makeshift studio at his native for the film. He also shared that he felt like the prequel made itself post the original, Kantara. Produced by Hombale Films and released in Telugu by Mythri Movie Makers, the film, starring Rukmini Vasanth, continues its phenomenal run into the second weekend.
