Director Ram Gopal Varma always holds Puri Jagannath in high esteem since Puri is his protege. Short while back, Ram Gopal Varma spoke about Mahesh babu's upcoming movie 'The Businessman' directed by Puri Jagannath. Ram Gopal Varma cautioned other movies releasing in January 2012 that Businessman movie can create more records if the number of releases are high around the festive season. Ram Gopal Varma said "Ekkuva cinemaalatho Business man ni round up chesthe confusion lo inka ekkuva recordlu baddhalu kottesthundhi". The maveric director, in a lighter vein, said Mahesh Babu in Businessman and Puri Jagannath's dialogues and direction are better than sex. Encapsulating the episode, RGV felt that Mahesh babu's characterization in Businessman movie are never before and never after.
