Pawan Kalyan orders probe into Theatres strike issue

on May 27, 2025

Pawan Kalyan, Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, ordered a probe into recent theatres shut down and exhibitor strike issue. He called for a meeting with Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh and asked him for a thorough probe into the matter. He asked him for complete details regarding who started the issue and how it escalated. He tried to understand how come two senior producers came out in front of media about this issue twice in two days, separately.

From DCM office, press has been informed that Pawan Kalyan asked for a committee to be established to look into the Food and Beverage rates in the theatres. He opined that the rates have been astronomical and hence, a family of four fears to walk into theatres regularly.

He did ask the committee to look into the problems faced by theatres in handling crowds and also into the facilities they are providing to charge so much for ticket. He even asked them to look into ticket rates and how much of it is being fair.

Finally, he asked Kandula Durgesh to investigate further into political angle that the theatre owners have played into all this fiasco trying to attack him. Well, his long awaited Hari Hara Veera Mallu is scheduled for a big release on 12th June and seems like someone did try to sabotage his release for some political or personal gain.
