Nelson compensates a huge amount to distributor

on Jan 28, 2025

Films can be failures or hits at the box office and filmmakers, distributors take huge gamble with crores prior to release. So, to build a healthy ambiance, distributors expect makers to compensate their losses when films don't work. In a day and age, when distributors are left to conduct agitations on road, director Nelson did prove his integrity with a huge compensation.

According to sources, Nelson's production Bloody Beggar lost huge Rs.5-8 crores in Tamil Nadu post release. Distributor talked to Nelson and asked him for compensation. While he accepted, he got busy with his next directorial Jailer 2 works. Meanwhile, the distributor visited his house reminding him about compensation.

He asked the director to reimburse the amount showcasing the details. Immediately, Nelson accepted to take care of entire losses. But the distributor to build a good relation, asked him for 65% of the amount upto Rs.5-6 crores and the director immediately settled the amount, it seems.

We have seen distributors going out on agitations and hunger strikes in front of directors, producers and actors' houses. But Nelson seems to have decided to not prolong the issue and ended it amicably. It would be great rest of them also follow such example and see that everyone in the business is healthy. Post Jailer 2 with Rajinikanth, the director has a biggie with Jr. NTR.
