Lokah is all set to topple Mohanlal BO records

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra released on 28th August for Onam holidays and has set box office on fire, globally. The movie released as a potential hit being a female Superhero film starring Kalyani Priyadarshan in titular role. With Mohanlal's Hridayapoorvam, Fahad Faasil's Oodum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira in competition, many expected it to be a hit that holds its ground with titans.
But this Duqluer Salmaan production has become a huge blockbuster breaking all exisiting Malayalam cinema records. The movie has collected Rs.88.48 crores gross in Kerala in 18 days, and it is set to become the second highest by Monday EOD and second 100 crores grosser in state by the fourth weekend.
With Rs.13.73 crores gross from third weekend in Kerala, the movie has started re-writing records as biggest third weekend grosser. Even in worldwide gross calculations, the movie has toppled Thudarum, Manjummel Boys with Rs.248 crores collections, on the verge of Rs.250 crores landmark. Also, the movie became the all-time highest ticket sales for a Malayalam movie on BMS.
Lokah becomes the second film to achieve that landmark and first one is Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran's L2 Empuraan. Looking at the momentum, the trade analysts are predicting the movie to cross Empuraan's Rs.265 crores gross mark before Dussehra. IN UK and Ireland, the movie is nearing 1 Million mark as well, with £991.4k, till date.
It would be the second highest grosser in the market behind Empuraan. Lokah crossed Empuraan, Manjummel Boys in Kerala and it is on its way to cross 2018. But Thudarum's Rs.118 crores gross seems to be difficult to achieve but the movie could end up crossing it as on Monday also it is set to hit Rs.2.5 crores mark.
Dominic Arun has directed the film with Naslen, Chandu, Arun Kurian in other prominent leading roles. Sandy Master played antagonist role and Tovino Thomas as Chattan, Dulquer Salmaan as Charile/ Odiyan made cameo appearances. Both will join next parts or chapters in full-fledged leading roles along with Kalyani Priyadarshan and Mammootty will also appear as Moothon.
