The Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India on Friday announced that movies featuring Pakistani actors won’t be screened in theatres in the country. Its members are a part of states like Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra and include both single screen and multiplex owners. Days before Karan Johar's widely-anticipated "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" is to release this comes as a big blow. Johar's film, which has Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma in lead roles, is scheduled for a Diwali release.“It was decided that keeping in mind the patriotic feelings and national interest, we have requested all member exhibitors to refrain from screening movies which have involvement of any Pakistani artiste, technician, director or music director. “We are also in the process of requesting other associations connected with the film industry to support the sentiments in the best interest of our nation,” he added.
