Aamir Khan is a Mr Perfectionist actor. He does everything to portray characters. Some years back, for Ghajini, Aamir khan devoted 9 months on building his physique, losing weight and looking muscular. And now for Dangal, Aamir Khan again proved that age is just a number. Aamir had to undergo an extreme transformation and instead of using a body-double or a body-suit, he opted for undergoing major body changes. Let’s see whether his hard work pays off!

Story:

A champion wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat (Aamir Khan) dreams to win a gold medal for India. He is unable to do this and gives up wrestling dreams to financially support his family. He then decides to turn his yet-to-be-born sons into wrestlers who will bring home golds for India. Phogat is disappointed when his wife Shobha Kaur (Sakshi Tanwar) gives birth to four daughters.

One day when Geeta and Babita bash up a couple of local boys for abusing them, Mahavir sees the light. He forgot, he says, that a gold medal is gold whether won by a boy or a girl. Rest of the story is about how Phogat trained his daughters to become professional wrestlers.

Negatives:

Analysis:

Artists Performances:

Aamir Khan proves yet again why he is called Mr. Perfectionist. Aamir as Mahavir Singh Phogat throws himself into the role with a conviction and commitment that mirror the real-life Mahavir’s own maniacal pursuit of perfection for his daughters. The changes Aamir has made to his body for this film are impressive, but what really wins the day is the way every cell of his being seems infused with the character.

Fatima Sana Shaikh (Geeta) and Sanya Malhotra (Babita), the girls who played Aamir Khan’s daughters showed great passion and determination when it came to the wrestling sequence and also performed equally well when they had to enact an emotional scene. Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar, who played the younger version of Geeta and Babita made their screen time count as well. Sakshi Tanwar is remarkable in the small role.

Technical Aspect:

Director Nitesh Tiwari has to be credited for the way he has treated the film with not much vigor fitted theatrics yet grabbing the attention of the audience throughout the film. He balanced emotions, drama and humor in accurately. A large part of the second half is taken up by Geeta’s wrestling matches. The director has wisely chosen to show these bouts in their entirety rather than just edited clips. The film then becomes a medley of matches that are so well shot. Wresting lovers will fully love these episodes.

A heartwarming music by Pritam, spectacular camera work by Sethu Sriram and Ballu Saluja’s editing were other biggest assets of the film. All three did their job picture perfect.
.

Verdict:

Dangal is one of the best sports based films. Aamir Khan and other artists took the film to next level with their performance. Not just wresting sport lovers, everyone will enjoy the film. Don’t miss this one. Go and watch it with your family.

TeluguOne Perspective:

Dangal Is A Winner
