on Jul 25, 2015

Just getting ready to enter the much hyped 400 crore club in India as its third member, Rajamouli’s magnum opus “Baahubali: The Beginning” has now another record to its credit. This flick is likely to emerge as the most watched movie in the history of Indian cinema.

Baahubali grossed nearly 120 Cr in its first two weeks in AP/Nizam alone, which indicates that around 1.6-1.7 Cr tickets are sold. As it grossed 51 Cr from Karnataka, ticket sales would be crossing 40 lakhs nearly. Tamilnadu and Kerala grossed 58+ Cr nearly, indicating that 55-60 lakh tickets sales. On a whole, there is a sale of nearly 2.7 Cr tickets in South India alone. Rest of India would see nearly 90 lakh tickets sold at box office. Total Indian count has now crossed the figure of 3.5 Cr mark, when it comes to ticket sales. Earlier the record is on the name of PK, as it’s lifetime run saw collecting nearly 3.4 Cr tickets.

Still there is much juice left in Baahubali to attract people for 2-3 more weeks and this ticket sales might soar up to 4.5 crore mark easily.
