Anushka's Ghaati to limit Kingdom BO potential?

on Jun 2, 2025

Ghaati starring Queen Anushka Shetty has been announced to release in April but now, it has been postponed to 11th July. This shift has put Vijay Deverakonda's Kingdom Box Office potential in dilemma. As the makers of Ghaati, UV Creations, will ensure good theatres to be locked for their film, Kingdom might face though terrain from second week.

Kingdom is releasing on 4th July and makers are confident about it being a blockbuster comeback for Vijay. As the actor is facing big downtime in his career after Arjun Reddy and Geetha Govindam highs, he needs Kingdom to start his rein at the box office, once again.

Also, the makers have stated that they spent huge budget than they first planned, so, they would be seeking a two week free run for the film before another popular star film release. But Ghaati will definitely take away many screens from the film in AP state with Anushka having a great amount of craze and market.

With Krish being the director, there would be some sort of high interest for Ghaati at least in the opening weekend. So, this seems to effect Kingdom long run potential if it attains positive word of mouth after release. Well, this move has also put Nithiin's Thammudu release in further doldrums.

Dil Raju, the producer of Thammudu, might look at August month to give their film a possible two weeks time to recover the budget. Looks like July will have a packed schedule more than June with mid-range star films not looking to clash with big releases in August and September, like Coolie, Akhanda 2, War 2.
