Despite Mahesh Babu and his gang of followers calling Srimanthudu as a super hit film even in Tamil, the film is showing no impact. Apart from that it burned the hands of local distributors who owned the movie by spending nearly 3 crores.
While tall claims are made about “Selvandan”, the film failed to woo audiences big time. The film that fetched 3 crores from distributors collected only 1.1 crore gross after 1st week of run at box office. That means producers fetched only 45 lakhs share in it. They should recover more than 2.5 crores from box office, which is impossible now. If a film can’t make in its first week itself, then there is no way it could pull heavy numbers from then.
If we have to conclude, Mahesh’s debut in Tamil is a disaster.
