Why Deepika Padukone's Walk of Fame honor is special?

Deepika Padukone has become the first Indian Woman actress to get a star in Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Walk of Fame road runs 1.3 miles or 2.1 kms from east to west Hollywood Boulevard, from Gower Street to the Hollywood and La Brea Gateway at La Brea Avenue. Popular actors of Hollywood, who made a mark, get a star here.
Once selected to have a star, actors or their sponsors will have to pay US$85,000, which will be used to install and maintain the star. Hollywood Chamber of Commerce makes this announcement annually and Deepika Padukone's star will be installed along with Demi Moore, Rachel McAdams, Emily Blunt, Timothe Chalamet, Rami Malek, and Stanley Tucci.
Sabu, was the first Indian Actor from classic Hollywood times, that is, in 1930's and 40's , to have gotten this honor of Walk of Fame. Well, Deepika Padukone's star will be an inspiration for Indian actors to achieve such huge honor and it will always be a mark of excellence and extent of global reach Indian Cinema, has.
At the same time, more than 10 Million tourists go to visit Walk of Fame, annually, who will get to know about Indian Cinema and the actors with such a recognition. Having said that several Indian film lovers are wondering if Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan kind of stars should have been given this honor before her.
While this can be seen as a start, Deepika did appear in Hollywood film, opposite Vin Diesel, XXX and that works in her favor to have been selected for this honor before others. It would be a timeless honor for Indian Cinema, nevertheless, to see one of the big stars being honored, globally.
